Flavors of Azerbaijan

Overview

  • Duration:5 days 4 nights
  • Tour Type:Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani cuisine is one of the great undiscovered culinary traditions of the region, shaped by centuries of Silk Road exchange, mountain farming culture and a hospitality that expresses itself most naturally through food. This program is built around that tradition, combining the country's most compelling culinary experiences with its most significant cultural landmarks into a journey for travelers who believe that the best way to understand a place is through what it cooks and how it eats.

Day 1 — Arrival in Baku Arrival and private transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner at a traditional Azerbaijani restaurant with live folk music, where the first tastes of the journey begin.

Day 2 — A Day in Baku Discover the highlights of Baku beginning with panoramic views from Hillside Park. Explore the UNESCO-listed Old City, including the Shirvanshah Palace and the iconic Maiden Tower, followed by a traditional tea tasting and lunch inside the historic quarter. In the afternoon, visit the striking Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid.

Day 3 — Absheron Peninsula Travel across the Absheron Peninsula to visit the ancient Ateshgah Fire Temple and the eternal flames of Yanardag, two of Azerbaijan’s most fascinating cultural and natural landmarks. Enjoy a traditional lunch paired with Azerbaijani wine tasting and a hands-on Shekerbura pastry decorating workshop. Later, explore the lively Green Bazaar to experience local flavors and everyday life.

Day 4 — Mud Volcanoes and Culinary Experiences Visit the UNESCO-listed Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape to discover prehistoric carvings and learn about the region’s ancient civilizations. Every Journey is a Starting Point

Every itinerary we present is a carefully considered starting point, not a fixed itinerary. Our programs have been designed with years of on-the-ground experience, but no two groups are alike and no two journeys need to be either.

Every program in our portfolio can be adapted to suit the specific needs, interests and pace of your clients. Dates, duration, accommodation level, additional experiences, all of it can be shaped around what your clients are looking for. Our team is here to make it work, from the first conversation to the final detail.
