Two neighbouring countries, each extraordinary in its own right, together forming one of the most rewarding travel experiences in the world. Armenia and Georgia share the rugged beauty of the Caucasus, a deep traditions of Christian faith, some of the world's oldest winemaking cultures and a warmth of hospitality that stays with every visitor long after they return home.
Yet for all they share, these two countries are beautifully distinct. Armenia is ancient and contemplative, its identity shaped by millennia of resilience and a cultural depth that reveals itself slowly and memorably. Georgia is vibrant and expressive, its people instinctively generous, its cuisine extraordinary, its landscapes shifting from alpine peaks to sun-drenched valleys covered in vine.
This ten-day journey moves through both countries at the perfect pace, connecting their greatest cultural sites, most celebrated wine regions and most authentic local experiences into one seamless Caucasian adventure.
Day 1 — Arrival in Yerevan Arrival in Yerevan and check-in at a carefully selected hotel in the heart of the city. A welcome dinner at a traditional Armenian restaurant introduces the group to the generosity and depth of Armenian cuisine, over local wines and the first warmth of Caucasian hospitality.
Day 2 — Yerevan: The Pink City A full day exploring Armenia's vibrant capital. Republic Square and its elegant pink tuff architecture, the Matenadaran manuscript library, the Cascade complex with its panoramic city views and open-air sculpture garden. The day ends at the Ararat Brandy distillery for a guided tour and tasting experience of exquisite Armenian brandies, paired with local chocolate.
Day 3 — Monasteries, Canyons and Wine South into the Ararat Valley for one of the journey's most varied days. Khor Virap monastery with its unforgettable view of Mount Ararat, followed by Noravank rising from the deep red cliffs of the Gnishik canyon. The afternoon brings the Areni area and a tasting at a local family winery, where native Armenian grape varieties are paired with delicious dishes.
Day 4 — Ancient Temples and Living Traditions Travel to the UNESCO cave monastery of Geghard hand-carved in the cliffs, where a local choir will perform medieval Armenian spiritual chants - one of the most atmospheric moments of the entire journey. In the nearby village of Garni, see Armenia's only surviving Hellenistic temple perched above a spectacular basalt gorge, followed by a traditional lavash bread baking ceremony and a village lunch.
Day 5 — Through the Debed Canyon into Georgia A scenic drive north through the Lori region, stopping at Armenia's largest freshwater lake - Lake Sevan, and the charming town of Dilijan surrounded by the forests of the Dilijan National Park. After lunch, before crossing into Georgia, make one more stop in Armenia at the Haghpat Monastery rising above the forested Debed canyon. Arrival in Tbilisi in the evening.
Day 6 — Tbilisi: The City on the Kura A full day exploring one of the most characterful capitals in the region. The winding streets and ornate carved balconies of the Old Town, the ancient Narikala fortress above, Metekhi church on its cliff above the Kura river, and the famous sulphur bath district of Abanotubani. The day ends with a welcome dinner at one of the local traditional restaurants.
Day 7 — Mtskheta: The Spiritual Heart of Georgia A morning in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Jvari monastery perched dramatically above the confluence of two rivers, and the magnificent Svetitskhoveli cathedral, the spiritual centre of the Georgian Orthodox Church and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 8 — Kakheti: Into the Wine Country East to Kakheti, the soul of Georgian winemaking. A morning in Sighnaghi, the most romantic town in Georgia, its cobbled streets and terracotta rooftops enclosed within ancient walls above the Alazani valley. A visit to Bodbe monastery, the resting place of Saint Nino who brought Christianity to Georgia. The afternoon brings a family winery visit, where the ancient qvevri method of wine production is explained and tasted, followed by a lunch with a local family around a table that seems to have no end. Return to Tbilisi.
Day 9 — Ancient Rock Town Travel to the Shida Kartli region of Georgia in the morning. Explore Uplistsikhe, the ancient rock-hewn town carved into the cliffs above the Mtkvari River. In the town of Gori, visit the former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin's museum. Return to Tbilisi after lunch to enjoy your evening at leisure.
Day 10 — Departure from Tbilisi Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Tbilisi International Airport for onward flights.
