Armenia has long been shaped by the role of its women. Across centuries of upheaval and change, they have preserved everyday traditions—baking bread, weaving carpets, tending vineyards, and passing down recipes, skills, and stories through generations.


This seven-day journey explores Armenia through the lives, work, and perspectives of its women. From master weavers and female winemakers to contemporary artists and social entrepreneurs, each day introduces a different layer of modern Armenian life. With craft workshops, shared meals, cultural encounters, and meaningful local connections, this itinerary offers an experience that goes well beyond sightseeing.


Day 1 — Arrival & First Connection Arrival in Yerevan and a first evening in the Pink City. A welcome dinner hosted by a prominent Armenian woman chef introduces the group to the depth and generosity of Armenian cuisine, over local wines, warm bread and a feast of seasonal dishes.

Day 2 — Yerevan: Art, Knowledge & Craft The Matenadaran manuscript library and the National Gallery of Armenia in the morning, followed by a private visit to a female contemporary artist's studio in the afternoon. The day ends at the Vernissage market, meeting the women artisans behind the jewellery, textiles and ceramics.

Day 3 — Etchmiadzin: Weaving, Faith & Tradition A morning at one of the local carpet factories to meet local women weavers that share the stories behind one of Armenia's most enduring art forms. Continue to the Etchmiadzin cathedral complex, followed by a traditional lunch hosted by local women and an afternoon embroidery workshop complete the day.

Day 4 — Lake Sevan, Dilijan & the Women of the North A morning at Lake Sevan and Sevanavank monastery, before continuing to Dilijan. The afternoon is spent with local women running local craft workshops, or female entrepreneurs reshaping the region's gastronomic and cultural landscape through small-scale, community-driver projects, followed by a walk through Dilijan's charming old town. 

Day 5 — Day Trip to Gyumri Travel to Gyumri for a visit to the Aslamazyan Sisters Gallery, dedicated to the work of two pioneering Armenian female artists whose legacy continues to shape the country’s modern art scene. In the afternoon, take part in a stone carving workshop with a local female artist who breaks stereotypes about this predominantly male art form. 

Day 6 — Village Life, Sacred Sites & the Art of Bread Garni temple and the UNESCO cave monastery of Geghard in the morning. In between, a lavash bread making experience with a local family gathered around the tonir oven. Lunch is shared in a village home, prepared and hosted by the women of the house.

Day 7 — Farewell Yerevan A final morning visit to a women's social enterprise or NGO in Yerevan, followed by a farewell lunch hosted by a local woman chef, bringing the group together one last time to share stories and reflections before airport transfers.
